The Walmart Company had to change from its previous organizational structure. This is because it would be difficult to operate in such a culture without serious changes because of the acquisition. According to the former employee who sought anonymity with the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the major aim of the Walmart Company is to catch up with the leader in the industry; Amazon Inc., and as such, the former organizational structure would not have made it easy.
