They were interested to discover a new land filled with unfamiliar plants and wildlife. They also enjoyed the privilege to meeting a different population that had a much different culture and language than theirs. The Europeans were fascinated about how different the lifestyle of this new population was. The new people who the Europeans met are the current American Indians (Salisbury, 2017). Many sources say that the American Indians have been living in North America for the past fifty thousand years.
