The theme I chose was Empathy and forgiveness.
Three major character analyses are:
Prospero- was the original duke of Milan until his brother Antonio stole his title as duke
and his property twelve years ago. Prospero found shelter on this island in the
Mediterranean Sea. Prospero was the God of the island, master minding everyone within
his reach. He is powerless against his adversaries until they all showed up on a ship close
by but once they were close enough for him to reach he can use his magical powers to
generate storms and make them be under his control. Prospero was white magic which is
of nature. The former duke of Milan has a composite personality. He is a humane ruler
with no intention of injuring his adversaries. In the beginning of the play, Prospero
appears to be evil in the way that he treats Ariel and Caliban. Even though Antonio
betrayed Prospero he refuses to treat him as someone who betrayed him. An example of
Prospero being good is when he stopped Alonso from apologizing to Miranda informing
him that there is no need for more amends. At the end of the play it is clear that Prospero
was a just, fair, forgiving and intelligent person.
Miranda- was the daughter of Prospero. She was only 3 years old when she and her
father were banished from their home. Twelve years later Miranda grew up to become a
beautiful young woman. Miranda was innocent as she never met another woman as
herself; the only other human being she knew was her father Prospero. She is not aware
of what beauty supposed to look like and because of this she is not aware of her own
beauty. In the first act Miranda is viewed as a sympathic and understanding person as she
showed concern for the passengers that were caught in the storm. Miranda was also
