1. Summary of my learning styles
According to the VARK questionnaires, my learning skills include Visual, Aural, Read/Write,
and Kinesthetic. VARK develops a self-report inventory that determines my preferred approach
to learning (Zhang & Bonk, 2016). Each of the learning skills (Visual, Aural, Read/Write, and
Kinesthetic) is applied based on what is being learned. Visual learning is learned best through
seeing. Displaying graphics such as diagrams, illustrations, charts, videos, and handouts are
important tools for visual learning. Individuals who prefer visual learning would rather view
visually presented information rather than written information (Zhang & Bonk, 2016).
Aural Learning is through hearing information. In this case, learners tend to achieve a great deal
from lectures and can easily remember what they were told (Zhang & Bonk, 2016). basically,
aural learners learn best through hearing instructions and uttering answers. Read/write learning
involves taking the information presented in words. Text-based learning materials are strongly
preferred by reading/write learners (Zhang & Bonk, 2016). This learning style requires its
learners to absorb and retain most of the information through reading and writing text.
Kinesthetic Learning is achieved by touching and doing. Kinesthetic learners depend on hands-
on experience (Zhang & Bonk, 2016). Physical activities are involved in Kinesthetic learning,
rather than listening to lectures or watching demonstrations.
2. My preferred learning strategies
My preferred learning strategies include read/write strategy and visual strategy. According to my
self-evaluation test on the VARK website, I realized that either reading and writing or
demonstration help me to understand certain information. Reading and writing enable me to
analyze a text accordingly, putting down important points for future reference. I can use my
