NURS FPX4040 Assessment3 1 NURS-FPX 4040 Annotated Bibliography On Technology In Nursing Capella University NURS-FPX4040 Introduction Electrocardiographic (ECG) telemetry monitoring is widely used throughout hospitals and acute care facilities. ECG monitoring is useful in specific populations to continuously monitor the electrical activity of the heart, especially for patients who present with cardiac related symptoms. Although, at times ECG monitoring can be ordered unnecessarily, it is useful in helping monitor for abnormal heart rhythms and ST segment changes in relation to cardiac ischemia. This annotated bibliography will acknowledge four articles discussing ECG monitoring and the impact it has on patient safety, quality care and the interdisciplinary team. Additionally, recommendations regarding the use of this technology and how it may be influenced by organizational factors will also be discussed. I
