1.1.1 Diversity of learners – refers to learners from racially, ethnically, culturally and linguistically
diverse families and communities of lower socio-economic status. It means understanding
that each individual is unique and recognizing our individual differences.
1.1.2 Assessment – is a process whereby individual learners’ attainment of knowledge (content,
concepts and skills) in a subject is measured and the data and information obtained from
this process is collected, analysed and interpreted in order to inform learners about their
strength, weakness and progress.
1.1.3 Feedback – the transmission of evaluative or corrective information about an action, event
or process to the original or controlling source. This information can be given to the learners
or teacher about the learner’s performance relative to learning goals or outcomes.
1.1.4 Role-play – is the technique that allows learners to explore realistic situations by interacting
with other people in a managed way in order to develop experience and trial different
strategies in a supported environment. Is the learning structure that allows students to
immediately apply content as they are put in the role of decision regarding a policy, resource
allocation or some other outcomes.
1.1.5 Barriers in learning – is anything that can stands in the way of a learner being able to learn
effectively. For an example, a learner may experience one or more barriers to learning
throughout his or her education. The barrier can be societal/environmental barriers such as
poverty, abuse or neglect etc.

Guiding learners to achieve their full physical, intellectual, personal, emotional and
social potential.
Developing learner’s skills to respond to challenges and play an active and responsible
role in the economy and society.

environment, subject choices, further studies and careers.
