When teaching children, men and women about morality, oral history focused on various aspects. Education was based on oral tradition, oral culture as well as oral lore. (Baker, 2019:7). Oral lore is described as messages or testimonies that are carried over from one generation to the next orally. Testimonies were transmitted in the forms of ballads, songs as well as chants. Oral history mainly focused on teaching children, men and women about various aspects of life such as morality, religion, philosophy, wisdom, geography, history and human existence.
