Introduction The central theme in all of control theory is that human behavior is largely the result of how children are socialized (Ellis &Walsh 2000:321). This socialization directs the extent to which a person comes to trust and rely on others, and in turn, becomes emotionally and intellectually bound to them. Control theorist believe that this emotional and intellectual commitment gradually become more apparent from a long process of being nurtured and socialized by parents and guardians.
