QUESTION : In your opinion, is better to have competitive advantage or comparative
advantage?
ANSWER : Competitive advantage is an advantage over competitors gained by offering
consumers greater value, either by means of lower prices or by providing greater benefits and
services that justifies higher prices.
Comparative advantage is a term that refers to an an economy's ability to produce goods and
services at a lower opportunity cost than that of trade partners. It also can give a company the
ability to sell goods and services at a lower price than its competitors and realize stronger
sales margins. It also can be known as what you do the best while also giving the least.
In my opinion that based on the explanation above, it is depends on what the business or
company current need. If a company advertises a product for a price that's lower than a
similar product from a competitor, that company is likely to have a competitive advantage.
Meanwhile if a brand has two products (A & B), but product is better, then the comparative
advantage is B product because the brand make more money on B product.
