AUE3761 Assignment 1 – 2021 Cornelius de Jager Question 1: Discuss whether or not the CFO complied with the fundamental principles of ethics as stipulated in the SAICA Code of Professional Conduct. Note that your answer does not have to address the threats.  Integrity – The CFO did not comply with this principle as he was not honest in court when asked about his involvement in the creation of the financial irregularities.  Objectivity – The CFO dit not stay objective as he compromised his judgement under the influence of the executive director.  Professional Competence – The CFO did not continue to fulfil his duties professionally when instructed to do unlawful acts by the executive director.  Due Care – The CFO did not act with due care as he caused harm to the company’s reputation with his actions.  Confidentiality – The CFO did comply with this as he did not leave out any confidential information about the company.  Professional Behaviour – The CFO did not comply as he committed a criminal offense by breaking the law when lying in court
