Earth is being harmed by human activity. Although there are thousands of
organizations trying to stop global warming, there are millions of companies doing
the complete opposite. Pacheco Ferreira, Aldo (2008) “So extensive and far-
reaching are the problems that the future well-being of humanity, together with that
of many other life forms on the planet, is in risk.”Public health and environmental
pollution: precautionary paradigms Revista Brasileira em Promoção da Saúde, vol.
21, núm. 1, pp. 69-74, Fortaleza-Ceará, Brasil. Damage on Earth can happen
directly or indirectly. So a lot of people may be harming the Earth without even
knowing it.
Population growth is part of the problem, because everybody has needs and
normally those needs are coming from our planet. So, more people, more needs,
less resources. This kind of damage is an indirect one. There are also a lot of direct
damages happening everyday, like: deforestation, pollution, overexploitation, burning
fossil fuels and constantly throwing trash and chemicals to the rivers and oceans.
The last problems I mentioned are only a few of a big list of human activities that are
harming the Earth.
Another way that human activities are harming Earth is by not doing enough as an
individual. As I said before, there are thousands of organizations trying to make
conscience and to make a movement. But it will have to take more than that, like
governments doing their own movement and industries donating money to the
organizations or simply giving a message through their media. There's a lot we can
do to stop damaging the environment but we chose not to and that, directly harms
the environment. Pacheco Ferreira, Aldo (2008) “Increasingly, there has been a
growing international consensus around the need to reconsider the conventional
approaches to environmental regulation and management.” Public health and
environmental pollution: precautionary paradigms Revista Brasileira em Promoção
da Saúde, vol. 21, núm. 1, pp. 69-74, Fortaleza-Ceará, Brasil.
After knowing this information you might go to the conclusion that there's not going
to be a bright future for our next generation. The human activities that are harming
the environment the most are the one that people, the government and the big
industries practice daily. The result of this is an extreme climate change all around
the globe, lack of water and essential resources. Also we might be exposed to a lot
of diseases because we are constantly exposed to toxic chemicals. All this chaos is
predicted to happen within 30 years.
In conclusion, human activities are harming the Earth. And alot of serious
consequences may come from all that damage. Pacheco Ferreira, Aldo (2008)
