Although there isn’t just one plant in the world that is more important than others, there are a
lot of plants that bring many benefits to humans and their environment. There are many
different types of plants. And we have found a use for almost all of them. Some of them are
just for decoration, some hold a sentimental value for us, and some are used for medicinal
purposes. Maybe some of us don’t realize it, but some plants are really vital for our day to
day life.
One of the most important plants is the bamboo. Baysal, Ergun; Tomak, Eylem D.;
Topaloglu, Elif; Pesman, Emrah (2016)“Bamboo is used in many applications such as
furniture, crafts, decoration and construction. Untreated bamboo for structural purposes has a
service life of 2-3 years.” The bamboo is also known for being a special part of the culture of
Asia. Bamboo is also known as the fastes growing plant in the entire world. Because there
are over a thousand different types of bamboo it can grow in cold weather, as well as in
tropical weather.
Another important plant is aloe vera. Álamo Vera, Francisca Rosa; Bethencourt Gutiérrez,
José Carlos; Osorio Acosta, Javier (2016) “Aloe vera is a lily perennial plant composed –
basically– by a variable group of leaves that start from a central trunk from which grows
sporadically, two or three times a year.” Aloe vera is actually considered a medicinal plant.
This plant doesn’t grow as fast as the bamboo, but it has a lot of uses. For example: it can be
used as a skin exfoliator, it can also be used as medicine for conjunctivitis, and also can
benefit the colon.
Another great, important plant is ginger. It is rich in vitamin B and C and also has rich
minerals like phosphorus, calcium and aluminum.Ginger is a plant root that most people use
for a healthy diet, because of its nutrients. Ginger can also be used as a medical plant because
of its nutrients. It is an antibacterial, antiviral, anti- parasitic, it can also be used as an anti-
inflammatory.
In conclusion, there are many types of plants that provide different benefits. da Cruz Paulino,
Renan; de Sousa Azevedo Henriques, Gabrielly Paula; Barbosa Coelho, Maria de Fátima;
do Nascimento Araújo, Paulo Victor (2011)“Each plant formation has plants with medicinal
characteristics, serving often for communities as a very effective way of curing illnesses.”
There can’t really be a more important plant, because all of them benefit us and their
environment in very different ways. Some medicinal plants are being used from generation to
generation, and each generation finding the plants benefits is helpful in a slightly different
way than the other ones. We still haven’t discovered all the types of plants yet, but there are a
lot that are helpful for humanity.
