a mountain or exploring a cave?
Would I prefer to spend your vacation time camping on a mountain or exploring a cave? I
think that if I had to choose, I would choose the mountain. The reason why I would choose
mountains is because it has much more options than a cave. García Hernández, María;
Calle Vaquero, Manuel (2006) “... take into account the whole set of activities that,
depending on the motivations of the visitors, complete and provide content to stay at
destination: hunting, fishing, quads, canoeing, bird watching, horseback riding, cultural visits,
hiking, climbing, gastronomic tastings, etc.” These are some of the activities that you can do
in mountains but can’t do, or can’t do as freely in a cave.
Caves can be really amusing and incredible but I wouldn’t choose it as a vacation destination,
for the simple reason that they are not safe for humans. If I had to stay in a cave to survive, I
definitely would but not voluntarily. Caves can be filled with fungus and alot of bacterias
around. I know that the mountains also have that but not as much as a humid cave. Also caves
can have dangerous animals , and if they try to attack you it would be almost imposible to
escape on time.
Obviously mountains also have animals , but they also have way more tools than a cave, so
you can defend yourself from that animal or hunt it and eat it. Another problem of caves is
their very low temperatures. In any case I have to cook something, or just warm myself, it
would be very difficult to find the materials for a fire and to start a fire in that environment.
Frolova, Marina (2002) “They can mention the great massifs covered with snow, magnificent
glaciers, beautiful waterfalls, torrents and peaks, wide luminous valleys, villages of chalets,
etc.” Mountains have a lot of very different, amazing aspects every single season. Caves can
also have beautiful things such as amazing stones, but it doesn’t have as many aspects as a
great leafy mountain.
Another reason why I would spend my vacations in the mountains is the view of trees and
animalsall around . Also the fresh air that, due to contamination, we can rarely have inside
civilization. Although camping in mountains can have its risks, it hardly compares with
exploring a cave and its risks. There are hundreds of cases of people exploring caves(either
for educational or personal reasons) that have been trapped inside the cave. And knowing all
this information makes me think that exploring caves is way too stressful for it to be a
vacation plan.
