As we are now in the 21st century, with the continuous
appraisal of technology that has brought positive and negative
outcomes. But, am surely those negative are just from the
wrong usage of it. One fruit of the 21st century technology is
the talked of the town phrase "Cancel Culture" but, do we really
need this culture or is it just another type of oppressing
someone's belief?
Before we start, to have a clearer and deeper understanding on
the topic we must define what "Cancel Culture" is. According to
Wikipedia: Cancel culture or call-out culture is a modern form of
ostracism in which someone is thrust out of social or
professional circles - whether it be online, on social media, or in
person. Those subject to this ostracism are said to have been
"cancelled". It has come to mean a great deal of different things
to different people. To some, it poses a grave danger to free
speech. To some, it is a new take on 'political correctness gone
mad' and a method used by the intolerant left to enforce a
puritanical censure. To others, it's just a way of saying that
someone has done something they perceive to be offensive and
therefore has lost their respect.
