1 INTRODUCTION AND WELCOME

Dear Student

1.1 Tutorial matter

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Industrial and Organisational
Psychology. Our graduates contribute to our society and economy in a number of important ways,
and I am therefore very pleased that you have chosen this field of study. I hope that you will
complete your studies successfully and find them relevant to your chosen career. I also hope that
