Personally, I have always been fascinated by different forms of art even though I
have not been able to travel and physically visit art galleries out of my county.
It was an honor for me to have been able to visit the art galleries that I can
find, that are still in existence near me. I love watching and absorbing the
development of art and how art is being transformed from something simple to
something meaningful.
There are indeed different forms of art that interest me but Impressionism art
excites me the most. Impressionism art is exciting to both look at and understand
and for this reason I am intrigued to see the many different interpretation and
comparison that are made on one art piece. The impressionist painter that stands
out to me is Claude O. Monet and his paintings. My favorite of his artwork
collection is the Water-Lilies 28.
Here is a photograph and link to the Water-Lilies 28 painting.
Water Lilies Series 28
Water-Lilies 28 by Claude Oscar Monet

The history that encompasses this painting is truly thought-provoking. Claude O.
Monet has a wide variety of water lilies paintings known as the Water Lilies
Series. He was also known to have painted more than 250 water lilies paintings that
were growing on the pond near his home.
For me visually, this particular painting is just stunning. The earthy colors are
just so comforting in that it gave me a feel of the environment in his time. When
Monet painted his “Water Lilies” his focus was on the surface of the water which
shows a mirror image of the land and skies, making it look like the two are
connected. The colors in his painting worked in accord with each other. In Monet’s
painting you are able to see the mirror image of the clouds on the water along with
the lovely water lilies floating on the water. The short smooth brushstrokes bring
out the vibrant colors and details that stand out more to create a more realistic
or rustic look in the painting. The fascinating thing about the painting is that
when you take a closer look at the painting there is no sense of scale or sizing.
It’s not easy to determine where the pond starts, ends or how big the pond really
is. Personally, the artist did a remarkable job painting the “Water Lilies Series”
and continuing to tell a wonderful story with his art.
