, 1. School culture is the manner in which teachers and all of the other staff members of the
school work together. It is when the school body stands for specific beliefs and values.
This can be justified by the example of school X, everyone that partakes in educations
the learners including the management of the school, work together in harmony and
respect. Therefore, it can be said that their school culture is a harmonious one. The staff
agrees to put their faith in their chosen leader i.e. the principal. They stand for specific
beliefs such as, their strong Christian ethos.
2. School X was heavily taxed. This can be seen by the increase in learners with and
without special needs, while the numbers of teachers stayed the same. However, this
shows the commendable leadership present at the school. The teachers and parents
agree that the school is well managed by the principal, school management committee
and teachers. The school places most of its trust in the principal when it comes to not
only running the school, but also ensuring that guidelines are implemented. The culture
of the school is based on strong Christian beliefs and what they managed to do by
creating ELSEN classes shaped the way other schools are currently running.
3. During my teaching practice, I can practice the principles of Ubuntu by treating the staff
as well as the learners with respect. I can create an equal and just atmosphere in the
classroom. I can spread positivity, love and care in the classroom. I can assist the
teachers with their minor tasks so that they can focus on the tasks that are most
important. I will treat every learner fairly and make the learners aware of how cruel
discriminating is.
