Instructions to Candidates
֎ Time allowed: Two and a half (2.5) hours.
֎ Calculators are not allowed.
o Attention!!!
It is not about an exam but more precisely a competition; and the direct
consequence being that there is a classification in the order of merit. Do
you find the questions difficult? You have just no idea about the difficulty of
your neighbor. Hence, stay focused! Be concentrated and most
importantly, do not give up.
o The question paper contains 50 multiple choice questions distributed in an
order which is not that of monotonous difficulty. It is then recommended
that the candidate reads entirely the questions so as to choose the
appropriate approach strategy in answering the questions.
o For every question, many propositions are given. One or more of them
is/are correct. Solve the questions and then mark the correct proposition(s)
on the answer sheet provided.
o The aim is not to solve all the questions in a haphazard manner but to
solve the ones you can in a convincing manner.
o To avoid haphazard answering of questions, the marking system is such
that every correct answer is worth +𝟑 marks while an incorrect
answer is worth −𝟏 mark. Not marking any answer is worth 𝟎 mark.
o The invigilator will call your attention on how to present your answers.
o 15 minutes will be added to the time allocated for this examination (Time
allocated for complete reading of the examination paper).
o The question paper is divided into two independent parts: Mathematics
and Physics, each carrying a total of 25 multiple choice questions.
o The very large number of you competing in this challenge should not scare
you. Just be focused and most importantly, don’t give up. Giving up is the
worse failure in life.
