Morphology
Birds have morphological differences compared to mammals and among classes of
birds. Some minor to major features:

Unlike mammals, birds have complete tracheal rings
Birds have air sacs
Birds have only 3 orders of Bronchial Division: Primary, Secondary,
Tertiary(Parabronchi- site of Gaseous exchange)
Birds organ of Phonation is the SYRINX or the "Organ of Voice".

The trachea in birds have different shapes and loops
Looped trachea in the whoopers swan
Penguins and petrels have lungs that are separated by a septum giving the
appearance of a double trachea.
