MYOCARDIAL INFRACTION
Myocardial infraction (MI) is also known as heart attack. Myocardial infraction is the death
or necrosis of area of heart, occurs when the blood flow decreases or stops to a part of heart.
CAUSES
Atherosclerosis
Sudden spasm or constriction of coronary artery
Blood clot
Acute blood loss
Severe Anemia
Low blood pressure
Increased need of oxygen supply (e.g. thyrotoxicosis, rapid heart rate, ingestion of
cocaine)
