I had a difficult time thinking of how I would have reacted if a patient were to ask me to lie to his wife so he could see his mistress, however, I believe I would kindly and calmly refuse to do so. I would make sure to choose my words carefully not to make the patient feel judged or uncomfortable with my refusal to assist in a “scheme” to trick his spouse into staying away so he could see his mistress. I could not meddle between a couples’ relationship and would ensure that I do not speak of this subject in front of his wife to avoid any issues in between the couple. A2. Evaluate how you applied the principles of beneficence, non-maleficence, autonomy, and justice to the scenario. According to Cherry & Jacob beneficence means that one should do good and prevent or avoid doing harm. I would have applied the principle of beneficence by not lying and not judging
