Theft is defined under section 1 of the Theft Act 1968:




“A person is guilty of theft if he
dishonestly appropriates property
belonging to another with the
intention of permanently depriving the
other of it”

section 1:

 Section 2 – Dishonestly (MR)
 Section 3 – Appropriates (AR)
 Section 4 – Property (AR)
 Section 5 – Belonging to another (AR)
