Arpita is the brainchild behind the organization “Give yourself gift”. She is an extrovert herself,
wanted to create and give an atmosphere where she wanted creativity to be at the forefront. Anyone
who wanted to create unique items which could be a gift or for their own use could approach her
company and they will help create one. This is an excellent “Initiative” for people and employees
who can showcase their talent and also grow emotionally.
1. She is looking for employees for her company.
Question a) what do you think should be the personality characteristics of the
candidates which would suit such a venture?
➢ The employee she is looking for should be having artistic skills like crafting, making toys,
painting, sculpting, calligraphy, and similar arts.
➢ Emotional Intelligence is key as there is a lot of emotion behind the artefact which is going
to be created for the person (customer) especially kids wherein patience and understanding
are the key virtues.
➢ Empathy is one other aspect. It is very important the employees put themselves to relate the
memory/bonding of the item which is being created for the person (customer), which is
being created for near and dear ones or for themselves.
➢ Social Skills Employees should be able to network well with the customer show patience
while understanding the customer's purpose of creating the gift/item. It is very important for
them to make the customer feel good as they would remember that forever. For e.g. the
employee shall be funny enough to keep the child engaged and encourage to visit the shop
more frequently.
➢ Other important characteristics include being Self-monitoring, Proactive Personality (under
the child’s requirement and offer them something which they want but can’t properly
express), high in self esteem and having type-B personality.
