Pastel Partner or Express report: 1. File main menu – Open a saved company on your drive, create a new company, delete a company, restore company saved backup or backup your company data. 2. The other main menu options; - Edit – you can only use it when you have opened any company. We use it for adding accounts (general ledger accounts like interest received, interest expense, bookkeeping fees etc), adding customers & suppliers on company master-file, inventory accounts. 3. Process menu – You have opened your company and you want to process your entries now. You use process menu to process those entries i.e. cash receipt, cash payments, purchases, general journals etc. You also use process menu to process your bank reconciliation. After processing your entries, please update your entries. You can print your bank recon report, entries report using process menu option. 4. After you have processed your entries and updated them, you move to view menu option. This is where you able to view your trial balance, your entries, income, expenses, assets, liabilities, customers & suppliers, VAT detailed ledger. It’s the only option you use to see what entries were processed correctly or incorrectly. 5. Change menu option – it’s not that important for accounting purposes. We mostly use it when we move from financial year end to another i.e from 2021 reporting period to 2022 period. 6. Setup menu option – It has company details like your personal information. When you want to update company’s address, tax ref number etc, you use this option. 7. Utility, windows, favourites menu options – not important at all. I have never used it and I don’t think you will ever use it. 8. Help – Every year Pastel upgrades its packages. It’s the only option you can use to check or upgrade your Pastel packag
