It is very important for a learner like this grade 9 pupil, to have a good/positive
self-esteem. It will improve his academic performance and his social skills and
the ability to cultivate supportive and lasting relationships in his life.
I, as a teacher, can give helpful and encouraging feedback to the
learner.
I can focus on the positive.
I should only give constructive criticism.
I can encourage the learner to find things they like about themselves and
improve on those things.
I can help the learner by setting realistic and obtainable expectations for
themselves.
I can teach the learner to learn and improve on their mistakes.
