[1 mark] A restaurant owner employed a scientist to test the effectiveness of two kitchen cleaning liquids. The scientist took samples from two work surfaces: • before the surfaces had been cleaned with the cleaning liquids • after the surfaces had been cleaned with the cleaning liquids.
