Resistance training in youth has always been a controversal topic in the schools and also in the
fitness industry in the following essay i will take articles from five different sources and describe
the benefits and risks .

vigorous activity , there is evidence that also shows the benefits of strength training in kids .
there are 5 myths surrounding the topic of strength training in kids and the topics are as follows,
strength training is unsafe ,strength training will stunt growth , children will experience bone
growth plate damage, strength training is for young athletes. The believe that strength training is
unsafe for children is not consistent with the needs of the children . Strength training requires
supervision, appropriate overload, gradual progression and adequate recovery between exercise.
Engaging youth in fun programs is important to assist them in their experience in strength
training.
