1. Identify a professional nursing- This week I am going to talk about Medical Errors and why
related issue and how you initially they are an ongoing threat to quality health care. I
experienced this personally in the experienced this workplace issue when I was working in an
work environment. outpatient chemotherapy clinic. One of the most significant
threats to quality health care are preventable medical errors.
Medical errors often kill more people yearly than breast
cancer does and that is a hard statement for me to hear or
even wrap my head around.
2. Describe how the situation The situation I am going to talk about happened in a doctor’s
unfolded including the key players office in which the nurses mixed and gave chemotherapy.

of the chairs were filled by the time this male patient got
finished seeing the doctor. He came in and had to sit in a
different chair than usual, and that did not work well for
most of the patients, they were particular where they sat so
that they could either see the TV or out of the doorway, he
preferred to see the TV. None of the patients at this office
who received chemotherapy, iron infusions, kidney
injections, Sandostatin injections, wore an arm band. So
right of the bat this should have sent off a dinger that one
day something terrible could happen in that chemotherapy
room, right? All of our patients have to have 2 identifiers
