Through various course works, I have successfully satisfied the Chamberlain program
outcomes, the Essentials of Master’s Education (MSN Essentials), as well as the National
Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) Core Competencies. This paper
identifies, explains, and reflects on ten exemplars and their related concepts and how they have
prepared me to meet the set objectives for becoming a masters’ prepared nurse.
Exemplar # 1 NUR 507 Pathophysiology March 2017
It is highly crucial for nurses to have substantial knowledge o the health issues facing the
patient population. Throughout this 8 week course, I have conducted a myriad of research,
employed critical thinking and utilized evidence-based research in analyzing and providing
information for various case studies. Even though it has not been an easy road, I have learnt
substantially a lot from every team member’s input in the case studies presented. I developed
new ideas and understanding in regards to case formulation. More so, I learnt on the important of
deducing differential diagnosis to aid in adding to the existing knowledge ad gaining new
insights in light of evidence-based-practice (EBP) in providing solutions to various patient case
studies. To understand a disease’s pathophysiology is highly critical as it facilitates in
understanding the foundation of scientific evidence, theoretical models as well as evidence-based
interventions for a particular problem (Bryant‐Lukosius et al., 2016). More so, in provides one
with the ability to informed decision in regards to the optimal treatment plan. Meeting the MSN
