Alzheimer’s disease
Alzheimer’s disease: Where your memory go
Have you ever seen a person who has the similar “characteristic” as Dory ( a Palette
surgeonfish in the cartoon movie called “ Finding Nemo”) in the real life? To be honest, I can
make sure that you will surprise that even yourself can have the similar thing too. As the matter
of fact, I already have many chances to witness by my eyes, a lot of people (also including
myself) suffer one of the most common diseases called “ Alzheimer’s”. Although Alzheimer’s
isn’t a dangerous disease, it still leaves many bad effects on your daily activities. Therefore, we
are going to find out what Alzheimer’s is, what the main causes and symptoms of this disease
are, who will get that, how it can affect to our body, how this disease can be diagnosed and what
the treatment for this disease is.
Previously, we must understand what Alzheimer’s is, and the main causes of this disease.
According to the Mayo Clinic, Alzheimer’s is a neurological disorder in which destroys the
memory and other important mental functions such as the death and degeneration of brain cells.
(Clinic, 2017). Furthermore, our memories are stored by the number of brain cells, thus, the lack
of brain cells (or disappearance) could lead to many serious problems to our life such as memory
loss or cognitive decline. (MacGill, 2018). Which factors create Alzheimer’s disease?
Scientists state that for most of the people, Alzheimer’s disease is caused by the
combination of genetic, lifestyle and environment factors that affect the brain over time which
mean our daily activities influence very much to this disease. (Clinic, 2017). However, two of the
most abnormalities that the scientists find out are plaques and tangles. (Clinic, 2017) Firstly,
plaques (the clumps of protein called beta-amyloid and found between the dying brain cells)
cause damage and destroy brain cells in many ways, including interfering with cell-to-cell
communication. Although they haven’t found out the main cause, the existence of beta-amyloid
