7. Identify signs and symptoms, treatment, prevention and risk behaviors for HIV, Hepatitis,

8. Describe Public Health officials' responsibilities for identifying sources of community
outbreaks, including surveillance mechanisms and field techniques, (Pgs. 530-531, 536-538)

9. Define disaster, and discuss the types of disasters. Be able to apply examples, (Pgs.504-
506).
10. Discuss the first level of disaster response at the local level, (Pgs. 515-517).
11. Discuss the role of Public Health Nurses in disasters response. Be able to apply examples,
(Pgs. 507-508 and 523-526).
12. Describe common responses to traumatic events. (Pgs.517-519).
13. Discuss the following health care systems: The Netherlands, Mexico, Uganda, Ecuador,
The UK, and China. Discuss the similarities and differences with the US system, (Pgs.73-
75).
