uninsured and children in poverty).
● Lynchburg has worse ratings than state and nation regarding poverty, housing problems
and violent crime.

population identifies as white (65%), the African American population is greater than that of
national average. While the demographics in disability, uninsured, and working force are like
that of national averages, the percent of person is poverty is 19.5%, almost double that of the
national average.
