research in the textbook?
This article helps us to understand gender identity development beyond the research by
exploring areas like the Master Narrative Framework (Mclean, 2016). Rider discusses
communality that emphasizes connectedness to the culture of the community (2017). There is
research beyond the textbook that supports the understanding of identity development being
evolved by more than the original understanding of the biological processes.
How can a theorist that you have explored help us understand gender identity
development? Describe three ways that you can support a friend, colleague, or family
member who identifies as nonbinary.
Theorist explored help us understand gender identity development by explaining how
identity evolves. Theorist exploring gender differences reveal small variations. Women
usually show greater memory ability thank boys (Johnson& Bouchard, 2007). Men show more
engagement in physical and verbal aggression then females (Baillaregeon et al., 2007). By
understanding these differences, we can try to be more compassionate when interacting with
different genders.
There are many ways to help support individuals that identify as nonbinary some of
them are to use their pronouns they prefer, recognize name changes, support their change
(Polish 2019). Using non-binary pronouns will help others feel more inclusive. Recognizing
name changes will show the individual that you care about what they desire, and you support
their request. Supporting their change will help the transition for the individual to happen in a
less stressful manner.
