P1 Apple – Private Limited Company
Apple is an American multinational technology company that design, develops and sells electronics
devices such as computer software, mobile phones. Also, they are having online services. Apple is
considered one of the big companies. They are calling them ‘Big Four tech’ which are Amazon,
Google and Facebook.
Apple is selling different electronics devices. They are selling computers (MAC), mobile phones,
earphones. Also, they developed a service. They can offer music via iTunes for which you need to
pay to have access to it. As an apple customer, you may need to get in touch with their repairing
and servicing department, in the case that your phone/computer/earphones are broken or just
damaged.
Apple is a global business. They are selling their products all around the globe. The main
headquarter is in California, but they are having other HQs in different countries around the globe.
Apple Inc. it is in the private sector.
Apple is having 5,213,840,000 shares. Arthur Levinson is the chairman of the board of Apple, the
current CEO of Calico and the single-largest individual shareholder with 1.1 million shares as of 03
August 2018.
Private Sector – the part of a national economy that is not under direct state control. Apple is in
the private sector because its shares are publicly available on the market. They do not have to
disclose information like a public company.
Apple is having a limited liability. Limited liability it means that the owners are not personally liable
for the company debts. For example, an investor enters into an agreement to join LLC, his
investment of £100.000 is his totally responsible. In other word, he can lose all the money that he
invests, so the owners of Apple or other shareholders are not responsible for other losses.
Apple is looking all the time to come up with something new. As well, they are coming with new
technologies that are trying to make our day-by-day life more easily, but, also, they are looking to
increase their profits by selling that products. For an interview, Luca Maestri, said that their first
priority is to look after their business and to make sure that they are continuing to grow and
invest the profit in the business. Luca Maestri is the finance chief of Apple.
Primary sector – includes any industry involved in the extraction and collection of natural resources,
such as: farming, forestry, mining and fishing.
Secondary sector – includes industries that produce a finished, usable product or are involved in
construction.
Tertiary sector (Service sector) – is the sector that provides services/finished products to its
consumer, including a wide range of businesses such as financial institutions, schools and
restaurants.

Apple is in the Tertiary sector because they are selling the products and also they are offering
repairing service for the device that are broken or damaged in exchange of a fee. Apple is a large
business which is having around 132.000 employees.
P1 NHS – Public Limited Company
NHS stands for The National Health Service. It refers to the Government-founded medical and health
care services that everyone living in the UK. These services include: Visiting a doctor or a nurse at a
doctor’s surgery.
NHS it is a national business because the NHS can be found almost in every city all around UK.
Everyone that it needs any medical assistance can have it without any costs or restrictions. They
are in classified in Public Sector.
NHS is not having any shareholders. They are having limited liability. The NHS purpose is to serve
the patients, working together for patients, respect and dignity, improving lives and compassion. It
is not a business that is looking for making profit. All the money that they get, they used it to
improve the equipment, buildings, staff.
The NHS it is in Tertiary sector. They are providing a service for all the people in UK. They are offering
them medical treatment.
NHS it is a large business and is having 1.2 million employees.
