Hi everyone! We made it to the halfway point already!
I wanted to briefly discuss the Campaign for Action interprofessional collaboration initiative
website. One very important aspect of nursing is interprofessional collaboration (van der Biezen,
Wensing, Poghosyan, van der Burgt, & Laurant, 2017). As a future family nurse practitioner, I
am aware of the need to collaborate with other professionals on a daily basis to care for patients.
In fact, most family practice clinic employ medical assistance and LPN’s to assist with the
everyday needs of patients. These relationships are especially important as they provide the
stepping stones for the providers to continue caring for patients. Other interprofessional
collaborations exist in the working environment for a nurse practitioner. These include
consultations with doctors, pharmacists and behavioral health professionals. This team work
provides patient more options to obtain their highest level of health. Campaign for Action is a
nursing initiative in collaboration with AARP and other organizations to bring nurses together
with other healthcare providers to help meet all patient’s needs (Campaign for Action, n.d.).
Collaborating on future cases with other providers is important
