After a proper introduction, hand hygiene, ID the patient and family member. I began with a

respiratory assessment because Sabina stated she couldn’t breathe. I assessed the lungs, vital
signs, pain scale, skin. I administered medication, I checked the IV site and administered

piggyback infusion, I administered stat Albuterol nebulizer to help with the opening of the
airway. I educated the patient and family member.

Pneumonia made Sabina’s airway much more restricted, which prone her to have the
increased number of asthma episodes. If it went unnoticed Sabina’s bronchospasm could

progress and become severe, leading to status asthmaticus. Sabina’s lungs are not fully
functional since we know that the X-ray showed right lower lobe pneumonia effusion.
Additionally bronchospasm, mucus plugging, and edema in the peripheral airways from
