How did the simulated experience of Brenda Patton’s case make you feel?
This case made me feel like I was not doing enough interventions despite given the order meds
after contacting the healthcare provider. Despite administration of acetaminophen for her fever
it never went below 102 degrees Fahrenheit. The patient was also very young which means she
needed a lot of education provided in a way that she could understand. Having the maternal
vital signs out of normal range and the FHR made this situation very complicated. Labs were

I followed the proper interventions as complication arose. I also maintained constant monitoring
of both mother and fetal status and called the HCP when it was necessary. I tried to form open

communication with the mother by asking questions particular to her needs and comforting her

when she was having contraction pain or seemed uneasy.
