,The tables are arranged in rows. The classroom is quite small for the number of tables in the room.
There are two teachers cupboards and a bookshelf in the room. There are teaching posters on the
walls. The walls are painted white and blue to fit with the school theme.
Each desk can accommodate two learners. There are also 2 single desks that can accommodate a
child each. Grouping in quite easy as the children sit in close proximity to each other.
The classroom is conducive to learning, however can be disruptive because of how small it is. The
teacher has tried to create a welcoming atmosphere. The environment is neat and clean.
The children generally have a good behaviour. The teacher is strict and does not take any nonsense.
She will stop teaching and use a “power pose” to calm the classroom, this is effective.
The classroom is quite close to the kitchen which does filter in a lot of noise. Children coming to eat
also creates a disturbance. There is an annex classroom to the class so there is only one entry way
which also causes disruptions.
Each period is 40 minutes long. There is no bell as time management is emphasised. The day is
arranged in 8 periods on a 5 day cycle. Each day has a half hour snack break and a 55 minute lunch
break.
There is a good relationship between learners themselves. There are a few talkative learners, but
this is to be given within any environment. The teacher treats everyone equally and with respect.
, The activities were clear and logical. There had been a lot of thought put into the planning of the
lesson as well as the resources used.
