is its ability to allow current in only one
direction
There are two types of PN junction biasing
Forward Bias

Permits current across the pn-junction
(-ve) terminal of the battery is connected
to the n region (Cathode)
(+ve) terminal of the battery is connected
to the p region (Anode)
The battery pushes conduction electrons
in n- region towards the junction while
holes in the p- region are pushed towards
the junction
