P1: Designing a relational database system based on the user requirements
In this task, an entity relationship diagram is designed based on the user requirements given by
a soccer league. An entity relationship diagram is a type of flowchart that refers as a model that
describes or shows interrelated entities. That is An ER model is made up of entity types that
define the relationships that can exist between them. (Lucidchart, 2021) Below is an ERD
model based on the scenario and assumptions made in relation to the user requirement. The
ERD is a crow’s foot model.
Figure 1: An ERD for soccer league database system
Assumptions
1. A person can be either a manager, player, coach, or a referee only
2. A captain is a player from the team and shares similar attributes
,M1: Comprehensive design for a fully functional system and data normalization
In this task, basic design for the database system in designed in order to further implement
when developing the system. These includes wireframes for the system interface. Whereas
normalization and mapping are done for the database development.
Below are system wireframes designed based on the user and system requirements. The
wireframe guides us on how the system will look once developed. In figure 2 we can see how
the home or main screen of the system will appear having all the sub menus will direct us to
the specific page.
Figure 2: System main page
Whereas figure 3 shows how various personnel, that is the coach, player, manager and referee
pages will appear in the system. The figure illustrates a page for referee however all the other
personnel pages are similar.
Figure 3: Personnel page
, Figure 4 shows how the query page will appear on the system with all queries as buttons where
on-click they will display the query results.
Figure 4: Query page in the system
Figure 5 shows how the fixtures page will appear on the system.
