, 1 Status Evaluation
On close analysis and evaluation of the medical informatics project it can be deduced that the
project has made significant progress and currently on course to achieving its goal but for a few
setbacks. The business case for this proposed product has been reviewed and approved by the
executive management.
According to the progress report for period May 5- August 5, 2017, programming started off
immediately and initial user requirement issues were resolved. But additional/repeated changes
to the user requirements and technical issues as a result of the new development environment and
its lack of experienced personnel, have all contributed to slowing down the pace of progression
as desired. The programmers are working long hours catch up.
Reports from the legal department indicates they may not be able to provide the policy
document wording by the due date, the user department anticipates a problem getting the test
packs ready for user testing due to staff going on thanksgiving leave. The Initial testing has been
performed, it revealed inefficient codes and a few bugs in the product which made it crash one a
week and the users have submitted more change requests that will need more time to implement.
At this point the module remains untested.
The project manager John has left, a conflict between the database administrators and the
architect over technical details has halt progress on how database supports the vendor reports,
management is currently unhappy about the project and the absence of John the project manager
has created a communication void between them and the project status. The project has exceeded
its budget by 20%
