Future Communication Needs
From previous analysis, the current SnhuEnergy network infrastructure and architecture
comprise of multiple locations Dallas and Memphis Office and different divisions (human
resources, IT, accounting, operations and payroll) and critical applications to be accessed over
the network (human resources, email, and VOIP), the present infrastructure consists of network
components like the routers, switches, servers and firewall allowing voice, data and video
connectivity internally and externally users using (TCP/IP) traffic.
With the current expansion plan to three regional offices in Kansas City and Houston, we will
redesign a new architecture to include these locations on the network, determine how traffic
flows through the network, how to ensure security on the network, and efficient performance of
the network.
Some of the communication needs
● Accesses to network applications (VOIP, HR etc.) for communication through all
SnhuEnergy business locations.
● Uninterrupted flow of data traffic between the Dallas office, Memphis office, Houston
office and Kansas office.
● Network security which involves securing the network infrastructure, stored data and data
traffic over the network as the business grows and open more locations.
● Ensuring that network performance (bandwidth and speed) operates at optimal efficiency
especially with the addition of three more offices and an anticipated growth by 50%.
● Incorporating a Wide Area Network (WAN) that would allow the multiple
offices locations to communicate with each other will require secure
communication SSL through the internet.
