Oman cables industry was established in 1984. It is one of the largest companies in
Oman The factory manufactures, markets, and develops many electrical products, that
contain different cables and voltages.
It is considered an international company, their several offices in many countries such
as Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates, Europe, and Asia. It has
distributors in Jordan, Kuwait, and some North African countries as well. Oman cable
industry has more than 700 employees with different qualifications and skills, and the
industry is working hard to develop and improve the skills of all staff by providing
various types of training and courses (Oman Cables Industry, 2020) .
Oman cables industry has a very professional, highly qualified management team and
an operation unit. Functional tasks of management are being covered by line
management. OCI considers human resources as the main reason for the company’s
success.
Like all other organizations, Oman Cables Industry has its Human resource
management process; in the following part, I am going to mention the purpose,
functions, and tasks of HRM in Oman Cables Industry.

Human resource management-HRM is a task in an organization which focuses on
internal sources of the organization (the employees), HRM plays very important

lead the organization to achieve its goals and targets.
The purpose of HRM is to manage, train, educate, and develop the employees to
increase their work performance to the maximum level to achieve organizational
goals and objectives. HRM also analysis employee's performance and reward them
for their achievements.

functions can be summarized as below:
Planning
One of the most important functions of Human resource management in Oman cables
industry is planning. Through planning, the future needs of the OCI can be known.
Planning includes the number and kind of people the organization wants. Based on
these people, the structure and departments of the organization will be shaped. In
short, we can say that planning helps the organization to know where they are today
and what they have to do in the future to develop and achieve their business.
(Chaudhary, 2016). Therefore, planning provides a framework for future successful
