our lives
e.g. festivals, exhibitions, sports, New Year,
Weddings etc…

Influenced by changes in society (urbanisation,
industrialisation, multicultural population etc…)
It is a public celebration
Examples of events:
– Festivals: usually held for the celebration of a
community or culture
– Fairs: for the trade of produce (similar to what
exhibitions are today)
