Ownership entails legal responsibility
therefore liability

, Members of an organising committee can be
personally responsible for the event: ‘jointly and
severally liable’-
– must be reflected in the structure of the event organisation
– Status of various personnel must be clearly established;
e.g. event co-ordinator, subcontractors, stakeholders etc…
Sponsorship agreements must have a clause for
sponsor’s liability and the extent of ownership of the
event.
All such issues must be addressed by the initial
agreements and contracts.
