HR’s role in impacting career development of employees is to strategically make employee
knowledgeable, and link that knowledge to organizational goals and objectives. Training helps
organizations leverage knowledge, and therefore enables them to be more competitive; training
can also have a positive effect on an organization’s rate of employee retention (Youssef, 2012).
