With this method, food is ordered online and delivered to the customer (Summathy and Josephin, 2017). Noel and Precy’s Meat Stall is a meat retail store at Pasig Public Market and has been selling fresh pork, beef and processed meat products since 1992. Founded by Mr. Noel Gaspar, the family-run business is now being managed by his son, Mr. Randel O. Gaspar. The store caters to customers from Pasig City and nearby areas like Makati, Taguig, Pateros and some parts of Mandaluyong and Rizal. The meat products are sourced from Pasig Slaughterhouse every day and most wet markets and talipapa in Pasig City and nearby areas prefer to buy their products from Pasig Public Market because the meat is fresher and cheaper. Most of the customers are walk-in and they have their frequent customers or suki. The store operates from 1:00 am to 12:00 noon. Noel and Precy’s Meat Stall also sells products using Facebook and for some customers, they place their orders thru text messaging or phone call and their orders are picked up later on or ifn cases of bulk orders, are delivered using the company owned motorcycle. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the company’s sales has greatly decreased for the past year. In compliance with the IATF guidelines, Operating hours of establishments, including markets were shortened. People were advised to stay home to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Schools adapted online and modular system and companies opted for Work-From-Home set up. With this current situation, fewer people go to markets and instead, just preferred buying from nearby stores within their barangays or order from online stores and applications and have their orders delivered right in their doorsteps. Traditional merchants like Noel and Precy’s Meat Stall only rely on customers who personally buy from their store and cannot compete to those big and established meat shops with online ordering and delivery system. Online ordering and delivery systems has become a necessity to businesses. Not only it makes ordering and delivery of items easier but also gives the customers a wider variety of products to choose from. Instead of personally going from one store to another, Customers can choose what items to buy from various stores with just few clicks in their devices. In our current situation where people are advised to stay indoors, Online ordering and delivery systems enables them to freely purchase essential and non-essential goods over the internet. This lessens the risk of getting infected with COVID-19 as well. Moreover, Small and Medium Enterprises (SME’s) are able to market their products and reach a wider market compared to just having a physical store. Noel and Precy’s Meat Stall being a Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) needs to cope up with the technology that big businesses are having. To be able to reach more customers, a website with a list of their products must be developed. In this website, customers can place their orders and have it delivered to the comfort of their own homes. Stock monitoring will be easier and sales recording will be more efficient. With this, more customers will have access to fresh and cheaper meat products without the need to go outside. Purpose and Description of the Project The Online Ordering and Delivery System for Noel and Precy’s Meat Stall will have a website wherein all available meat products will be posted. It has a registration page wherein customers must create their account first using their device to be able to place an order. From the list, customers can choose what product/s they would like to buy and add it to cart. Upon checking out, they can have the items delivered to their homes or workplace. The number of available products/stocks will be displayed real time. The system will have an identity verification upon customer registration. Customers are required to send a valid identification to ensure the information that were provided are true. Once confirmed, only then they can place orders. The delivery will be via the company’s in-house motorcycle delivery with a minimal fee. Unlike some online stores that you still need to book a rider from a third-party delivery or courier service which will be an added cost. Since the delivery is in-house, payments can be via Cash on Delivery (COD), and GCASH. The system will have a five-minute cancellation period before orders are processed. The system will display the total sales per day, per week and per month and the management can monitor the stocks on hand real time. Objectives of the Study The study aims to develop an Online and Delivery System for Noel and Precy’s Meat Stall where customers can select and place their orders, pay online and have it delivered to them and where the management can monitor their stocks and daily sales. • To develop a website where customers can view products and place orders; • To create an online ordering, payment and delivery platform for customers and; • To develop a module that monitors stocks and generates sales report. Scope and Limitations of the Study The system is for placing orders and delivery of meat products for the customers of Noel and Precy’s Meat Stall. The system is accessible online using personal computer, laptops, tablets and smartphones with browsers. The delivery of products is within Pasig, Makati, Taguig, and Pateros areas only. Ordering will be from 12:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. daily. Payments will be thru Cash on Delivery or GCASH. The system does not accept credit /debit card payments. The system will not have GPS tracking of the delivery. The system does not have offline features. STI College School Name 6
