Oedipus Rex by Sophocles-Oedipus as an ideal tragic hero
In the play Oedipus Rex, written by Sophocles, Oedipus is the ideal tragic hero because of his character flaws that lead him to his tragic downfall, making it impossible for him to end up in a perfect virtue of happiness, evoking fear and pity from the audience.
