Plot construction of Oedipus Rex by Sophocles
The plot construction of the play is essentially based on the classical norms of the unity of time, place and action. The unity of time means that the play must not cover a course of time not more than a single day: in Oedipus Rex also the whole plot of the play unfolds in the course of just a single day.
