Introduction frames
Framing is een kader wat zorgt voor focus, maar kan er ook voor zorgen dat je een deel mist.

Idea of reframing:
- Counterbalance (beeld is eenzijdig, dus balans brengen)
- Overemphasising the rational and technical side of organization (
“Start thinking about situations in more than one way” (multiframe thinking)

Frames are mental models, maps, mind-sets, scheme's, and cognitive lenses. (frames for
territory understanding and rapid cognition (train jezelf om snel situaties te herkennen))

View of organisations as:
1. Factories structural frame
2. Families human resource frame sociale aspect
3. Jungles political frame macht en leiderschap
4. Temples or carnivals symbolic frame symbolen en rituelen

Structural en human resource frame = rationeel en dominant in de besluitvorming
Political en symbolic frame = institutioneel /cultureel en relevant bij
organisatie verandering

Image of leadership:
- Structural: arbeidsplaatsenstructuur
- HR: delegering en zelfsturing
- Political: belangenbehartiging en politieke handigheid
- Symbol: inspireren

Basic leadership challenge:

- HR: organisatie en persoon fit
- Political: bestuurskundig
- Symbol: overtuiging

Structural frame:
- Proberen de verschillende onderdelen van een organisatie te begrijpen. De structuur
moet passen bij de context (zowel intern als extern)
- Bijvoorbeeld een organogram

HR frame:
- Balanceren tussen de belangen van het individu en de belangen van de organisatie.
- Bijvoorbeeld Harvard model (ABC): als je zorgt voor de juiste prikkels bij medwerkers,
levert dat bepaald gedrag op, wat leidt tot bepaalde uitkomsten (Antecent – Behavior –
Consequence). (medewerkers werden niet meer gezien als kosten, maar nu als een
manier om je te onderscheiden)

Political frame:
- Macht staat centraal. Onderkennen dat er verschillende groepen zijn waarmee je
rekening mee moet houden.
- Bijvoorbeeld stakingen

Symbolic frame:
- Betekenis, symboliek, normen, waarden staan hier centraal. Herkent iedereen, maar is
niet direct op onze radar.
- Bijv. Logo Verenigde Naties
